CHANCE

Ha

ENCOUNTER

There you were

Scowling from the sun Separate from other seekers; Dark, brooding, forbidding, Most desirable.

At first I would not Give you consideration;

Call it pride or fear I feared your rejection Might crush my pride

That made me bashful.

Daring a furtive second look

I found you were gone.

There was another

Who would not be put off.

How you rescued me by reappearing.

And oh, much, much more.

You taught me...What?

Love or jealousy?

You gave to me,

Or took from me...

You found, or lost me..

Or did I find and lose myself?

In the circling riddle called... The riddle without name.
